Make It New: Generative Revision with Kate Finegan

Trying to find your way through a draft can feel like being lost in the woods. You’re sure you left yourself a trail of breadcrumbs to follow, but now everything feels like a tangle of undergrowth, and the dense canopy of words is blocking all the light. In this multi-genre Weekend Workshop Intensive, we play with old drafts to make a new path through the forest. Fair warning: This might involve a controlled burn. It might mean clearing away some growth to give something glorious more room to grow. Come armed with your most gnarled drafts, and we’ll try to tame them – or, coax even greater wildness from them. This workshop takes place via the Longleaf Review website and Zoom, with live meetings for roughly 1.5 hours on Friday at 7 pm and Saturday/Sunday at 4 pm (ET)
